2013 Range Rover wins awardOctober 9, 2012 by: Deepak
The 2013 Range Rover has won its first ever award in Sunday Times Driving Top 100 Cars, even as the delivery of the vehicle has not been started yet, it’s on sale though. The all-new Range Rover emerged winner in the 4×4 category.
“Since its launch in 1970 it has set the standard all others have tried — and usually failed — to reach. It is the only car in the world in which you would feel equally comfortable driving across the Sahara, going shooting or giving it to the doorman at the Hotel de Paris in Monaco,” the judges from the UK magazine said.
Land Rover said: “No journalist has driven the car yet, but a passenger ride with Land Rover’s Chief Engineer, Vehicle Integrity, Mike Cross was enough to convince the jurors.”
The new Range Rover is light weight and is the first all-aluminium monocoque SUV in the world. There are three engines to choose from a 3.0-liter TDV6, 339 PS SDV8 or 510PS LR-V8.
Deliveries of the Range Rover will began in the UK from January 2013.
