Peugeot unveils Onyx supercar concept in Paris Motor Show [Video]October 1, 2012 by: Deepak
Peugeot has unveiled the unique Onyx supercar concept at the 2012 Paris Motor Show. It is unique in a sense that unlike usual supercars, this one is made out of copper, carbon fiber and paper.
The fine curves you can see in the picture have been sculpted by hand with brass sheets. The awesome supercar, which weighs a ton, gets its power from a hybrid turbodiesel 600 hp motor.
The concept by the French carmaker was leaked via pictures days before 2012 Paris Motor Show. Onyx, the cool vehicle you can see in the pictures, is a sportscar.
The car has a resemblance with the Bugatti Veyron and it is wrapped in a cool combination of two colors – black and chrome copper.
Also, a stunning two-wheeler by Peugeot made its debut at the Paris Motor Show. The design of both the vehicles is similar.
The Onyx Supercar concept and the Onyx Scooter Concept are on display together at the dazzling event. While the supercar is powered by a 680 hp diesel-electric drivetrain, the scooter will get its power from plug-in hybrid powertrain which gets its juice from a 0.4-liter petrol engine with an electric motor.
The two-wheeler will deliver an output of 60 hp (45 kW) and 58 Nm of torque and could be able to reach 150 km/h (93 mph), using just 2.0 l/100km (141 UK mpg) fuel.
But if you think it could be yours after the launch, we must tell you that as of now Peugeot don’t have any plans to send it into production.
