Google’s Self-Driving Cars are now legal in CaliforniaSeptember 27, 2012 by: Deepak
Google demand for making the autonomous or self-driving cars legal has been fulfilled. The bill was presented in May this year and finally the self-driving cars are now legal in California.
The self-driving cars have already been legalized in Nevada and California is the second to get the approval. The bill was signed by Governor Edmund ‘Jerry’ Brown and it became a law. Google co-founder Sergey Brin and State Senator Alex Padilla, author of the bill, were also present during the process.
“Anybody who first gets in the car and finds the car is driving will be a little skittish. But they’ll get over it.” said Brown when asked of the plan.
However, a human passenger is required in the car for safety measures, the law states.
