Porsche’s 550 that was seen during the years 1953 and 1956 was a racing evolution of Porsche 356. The car was lightweight, with low ground clearance and agility. The same is being brought back in a modern version by a French company to the Pebble Beach Concours D’Elegance.
Called the Vintech P550 Tribute, it is a modern interpretation of the vintage car with the classic roof redesigned with sleek lines, and a complete carbon fiber body. One interesting fact remains that, even though an engine twice the size of the original 1.5-liter has been installed it still weights the same as its predecessor.
The new 3 liter engine is considered good enough for 260-270 hp which should account for a decent performance. The car is supposed to be revealed on the 17th of August and we expect more details to follow.
