You must have heard about Pikes Peak or Pike’s Peak. If yes then I am sure you know why it is famous for or rather for what it is famous and for those of you who are not aware of Pikes Peak let me brief you about it.
Pikes Peak is a 14000 ft mountain 10 miles to the west of Colorado Springs and is famous for PPHIC – Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. PPHIC also known as Race to the Clouds is an annual automobile/motorcycle hill climb covering a track of 12.42 miles over 156 turns and climbing the height of 4720ft from the start at Mile 7 on Pikes Peak highway to the finish at 14,110 ft.
Ducati’s has been dominating the PPHIC for 3 years in a row now after again winning the 2012 PPHIC setting the new record on its Multistrada 1200S.
I guess seeing this only the two powerhouses of automobiles and motorcycles – Audi and Ducati decided to take a roll on Pikes Peak. Moreover inspired by the recent transition of Ducati getting under the shadow of Audi AG as a part of Lamborghini the new merger had to be tested.
Audi has decided to examine as to how much the two have in common in the pursuit of glory at Pikes Peak. With legacies of both these powerhouses marked on the tracks of Pikes Peak the new merger was all set to battle in the clouds.
With cameras all set, battling for the glory the Audi RS5 and Ducati Multistrada 1200S set on accent to the future in the clouds.
It is a real treat to watch the two giants, the two roadsters of their own race fight for glory on straight roads, sharp turns, dangerous ends and steep climbs and finally disappearing into the clouds where only the strongest monsters thrive.
Two iconic brands – Audi and Ducati come together at one iconic mountain to revive its history of racing and become the part of the Glory shared at Pikes Peak where people “Race to the Clouds”.
