Conquest launches its first unarmoured SUV EvadeAugust 10, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
US, Germany, Italy, France, Russia and some more countries are very prominent when it comes to being seen as automobile genius. Canada has never really shone in the way some of its other compatriots. Cars and Canada share their initials but they never really go together. But, after a long stint of silence Canadian armored SUV builders have come up with a budget SUV, Evade.
Like everyone else, Conquest also believes that SUV have to be big and imposing and hence the Evade is quite a giant. XV from conquest was a great vehicle with crunching numbers including a 6.8 litre V-10 that produced 400bhp and stunning 2215Nm of torque. Only 100 of these are to be made and each one costs around $629,000, which amounts to Rs. 3.5 Crore which in turn is not in everyone’s reach.
Conquest was looking at a car that would get them into mainstream market with a larger customer base. So, came up the unarmored Evade which uses a Ford F550 Chassis and costs Rs. 3.19 crores, cheaper to some extent. Evade shares a lot of similarity from XV but some of the features are just for Evade like the roof mounted search lights, night vision camera and some over the top use of touch screen everywhere.
Inside is all luxury with a replaceable partition, a third sunroof and some other eye catchy goodies. It is a different vehicle that looks unfamiliar but tempting. Let’s see what fate it goes through.
