BMW ‘i’ Cars to be available for sale online soonJuly 27, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
Here is the good news for all those lazy people or busy people or afraid of going to showroom people, BMW’s all electric i3 can be purchased online. So you click a mouse and then ride the electric car.
The sub-brand will be sold online and the first sale will be the i3 which costs around $48,500. It will be making its way in 2013 and a year later, the sportier and classy i8 can be expected. But, not everyone is a fan of internet and its shopping ways, some still like the traditional way of going and checking out the vehicle in the showrooms.
Well they have also been given special showrooms, the first of which has been opened in London. Stefan Bratzel, director of the Center of Auto Automotive Management at the University of Applied Science in Bergisch Gladbach, Germany said, “There is considerable risk in BMW’s approach of promoting the I brand so prominently [. . .] There is the image risk, if they don’t succeed as quickly as expected, and then there’s the main risk of costs, which can only be countered with high deliveries.”
So BMW is not leaving any stone unturned. For those who are still willing to test drive, showrooms are there and for those who trust the car too much, just order it online. I wonder if they will have offers like those o f Pizza companies. You know if not delivered in a week, its free.
