Renault Duster Vs Mahindra XUV500July 14, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
We are pleased to bring up in front of you a one-off one on one comparison between the Renault Duster and Mahindra XUV500. Mind you, these cars have hardly anything in similar, but Duster has had the same effect on masses as XUV had, so we will dig in a bit to see how do they fare against each other.
Duster scores over XUV in Price, build and looks. The top of the line duster can be parked at 11.29 lakhs and the base model can be taken home for 7.99 lakhs, which makes it affordable against the XUV that starts at 11.58 lakhs. Also the exterior and interior of Duster give you the special feeling that is somewhat missing in the XUV. The design makes it look really sleek and stylish.
On the other hand we have the XUV that captures the performance points with its 2,179 cc engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission that throws up 140 bhp, way ahead of Duster’s 108 bhp. While XUV has three rows of seating available and can easily accommodate 7 passengers, Duster has to be content with just two rows. The best for XUV is that it has a lot of service centers in India.
In the end no car is the winner, only the customer is, as he has an option of going for a full-fledged SUV, high on performance i.e the XUV500. If bucks are a little less go for the uber-cool Duster that is affordable looks great and has enough power to drive you around.
