It is a known fact and observation that competition gives rise to a number of new innovations. Same is the scenario with OPEL. After seeing the kind of success FIAT achieved with the retro-inspired 500, OPEL is all set to strike back hard with a car that is both similar and very different.
This mean machine –“The Adam” named after the company’s founder is an attempt of OPEL to win some style points in the market.
The design of this little wonder is just superb. The looks are killing which no other OPEL machine has. It features a contrasting roof color scheme, very bold creases both on bottom of the door and around the door handles. The cleverly designed C-pillar gives the impression that the roof is hovering above the body and not connected to it.
Opel themselves clearly state: “ADAM bucks the trend for retro-based design with a fresh and bold look that will appeal to open-minded individuals who want to defy convention with a car that’s distinctive and striking.”
Not only the outer appearance has been given so much attention but also the interior has been given the best ever design possible. The car apart from its looks has been loaded with high tech electronic gadgets. It has six air bags as it gets as standard, along with air-con and front electric windows, LED DRLs, infotainment system with all sorts of connectivity, Advanced Parking Assist II, Start/Stop and also the additive features that are most useful in European countries – heated steering wheel.
The most important and unique thing about this machine is that Adam will be the first car in Opel/Vauxhall’s range to adopt the new generation small petrol engine featuring direct injection and forced induction along with all new six-speed gearbox.
The price of this smart and sexy car is yet to be announced but assumptions are made that the price would be in the exact price bracket of Fiat 500 and Ford’s Ka. The sale of “The Adam” is set to go in the early 2013 in the Old Continent.
One thing is for sure that no one can beat this machine in terms of looks. It is just “Awesome”.
