For Sale: 2013 KTM Moto3 250 GPR Production Racer BikeJuly 11, 2012 by: Nishant Panwar
KTM – a brand, which in very less time has imprinted its name on millions of speed lovers and bike crazy. KTM is all set for the Moto3 World Championship as it has started to accept orders for a production racer version of its 250cc Moto3 race bike.
Although the orders will be accepted from July 1 to Oct 1, 2012, the production racer will be available in February 2013.The estimated price is supposed to be 45000 Euros.
The specifications of this 2013 KTM Moto3 250 GPR are similar to the Moto 3 bike including the one ridden by current series leader Sandro Cortese. It runs on the same single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine.
Moto3 Grand Prix has a lot of regulations for the specifications as a result most of the changes made are to meet these regulations. Some of the changes include 14000 rpm rev limit, Dell’Orto electronic control unit and an Akrapovic exhaust especially for the Moto3 limited 115db.
This production racer revs up to 13500 rpm and will also be used in the 2013 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup – which is a youth racing series that is held during the MotoGP season. The Red Bull Rookies will ride the same specifications as the GPR.
KTM is currently equipped with 5 factory riders in Moto3 with the Kalex team fielding another 4 on a race bike of the same specification but different chasis.
“In 2013 we want to increase the power of Orange in the Moto3 World Championship. There will be an addition of four KTM Moto3 bikes, KALEX however stays our exclusive partner with their own chassis development and will be supplied with engines. They also want to lift their contingent of bikes by another two,” says Bierer.
“We would also be very pleased if other teams and riders were on the grid for next season’s World Championship riding the KTM production racer. Continuing to support and to supply the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup with four-stroke KTM Moto3 bikes has never come into question. With Danny Kent and Luis Salom, both former Red Bull Rookies, this closes the circle and once again illustrate the successful concepts of the series and our engagement in the support of young talent!”
Pit Beirer, head of the KTM’s racing operations, has said that in 2013 the entire season will witness more of KTM and KALEX Moto 3.
Well we are waiting for this mean machine to get on the track and see how things would change for its driver.
