Yamaha SR500 Solus by Lossa Engineering is one cool bikeJuly 4, 2012 by: Nishant Panwar
Yamaha – one of the powerful Gods of the world of automobiles – is set to give a new birth in the era of Café Racers.
Lossa Engineering based specializes in café racers based on classic range of Italian, Japanese and British bikes from the 60’s and 70’s. Jay LaRossa from Lossa Engineering has worked day and night and spent hundreds of hours of machine works and hand fabricating the stunning Yamaha SR500 Café Racer making it a superb stunning beauty of all times.
The old school tradition can be seen as LaRossa strips the junk and makes the “mean machine” incredibly fast just like the original racers.
The engine of the Café Racer has undergone some serious modifications to give it more power and throttle and the feel of a “beast”. It’s been stripped and assembled with an oversize White Brothers piston and a hotter cam. Heavy-duty valve springs and a ported head are also contributors to the beast’s modification.
The Yamaha SR500 is equipped with a Benelli fuel tank and a GSX-R front end. The RD400 wheels seem to have mingled and gelled in well with the Café Racer with Brembo brakes in the front and rear bringing the roadster to a halt.
The machine is compact in size with a little bit of old classy cruiser look and a little bit sports bike touch which makes it favorite among both the young as well as new generation.
“Classy” looks of this monster, from outside, disguises you until you lay a hand on it and can feel the “Devil Unleashed” – with engine roaring out loud.
Well for all the classic bike lovers it’s a treat from Yamaha and will surely be on top priority for all speed lovers in town.
