Zaporizhia Automobile Building Plant or ZAZ is the chief car maker in Ukraine, which used to make combine harvesters, but in 1958 Soviet Union decided to switch to small cars. The first thing they made was a Fiat 600 and it had its share of technical and reliability problems. The only thing that made it popular was the fact that it was the cheapest soviet car till date.
ZAZ 968M in the video below is being tested by the stunning Irina Olhovskaya is a very simple car whose roots go back to 1979. A 1.2-liter engine fitted at rear and with the best possible 41 hp can take Irina up to 160km/h. Looking at the condition of the car we would ask Irina not to test it too much.
From where we stand and what we have seen in all these years, this looks trash but not very long ago it used to be a popular car. A simple car that is meant to take you where you want to go, without any fancy features and technology, this car is a very rare one in today’s time.
