2013 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT officially revealedJune 6, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
SLS AMG has been done away with and while you get out of the shock, another breaking news. SLS AMG is being replaced by SLS AMG GT. It’s not just the two letters that are being added here. The new car is harder and filled with great features. More power, a dynamic GT-quality suspension and tweaked transmission for a new and exhilarating experience.
The new replacement gets an output of 583 hp and 479 lb-ft torque while the power is transmitted to the rear wheels with a seven-speed AMG Speed shift dual-clutch gearbox. Front sees a 19 inch alloy rolled in 265/35-series tires while the rear has 20-inch wheels wrapped in 295/30-series tires.
The new improved GT gets to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, a tad faster than the previous models. Top speed has been limited to 197 mph.
“The new SLS AMG GT demonstrates the sort of potential which lies in AMG’s super sports cars. With its even higher levels of performance, the SLS AMG GT excites out on the race track in particular by providing an emotionally enjoyable and passionate driving experience,” said Tobias Moers, Mercedes-AMG Board Member and Head of Overall Vehicle Development.
A lot of high quality leather sits inside the interior and three new color combinations bring the diversity out. A lot of carbon fiber options are available along with a new Designo styling package and an optional Bang and Olufsen sound system. Sales will be starting this November and Mercedes is expecting the same profit the previous version gave. We can just wait and watch.
