Brayton 6 Concept Bike by Colby Higgins is a high performance bikeMay 23, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
Colby Higgins who designed the Train Wreck Bike, has now come up with the Brayton 6 Concept bike, which has been designed inside out to create a true high performance bike. Since it’s Colby working the design has to be out of the world. He has taken the power to weight ratio very seriously while designing the bike.
The bike has been built around a combustion bladder, so that it remains lightweight and the bladders are lightweight carbon nanotube cylinders. Each bladder acts like a 2-stroke engine to create linear motion, while a microcontroller controls the timing and fuel regulation. Thus bladders not just help in reducing weight but also help out with combustion. Natural gas is used as fuel which is stored in the bottom tank.
The design was done to give a wild and animalistic feeling to the bike. The rider can easily shift his riding position and height at the push of a button. The bladders are placed in the center of the frame, along with the integral fairings that holds the spine of the frame. Huge brakes and oversized wheels make it more intimidating and performance oriented.
The whole bike has been crated like it has to be human. Low slung seats make you feel like you are in the lap of the bike and the engine beats like a heart. This bike will invoke a unique emotion when it gets on with the rider as their combination will be different.
