Dream Yuga: Honda introduces its cheapest bike in IndiaMay 16, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
India is growing population wise no doubt, but the Indian market is growing by leaps and bounds too. This has enabled a large group of people to own a motorcycle, which was earlier not possible plus this phase is a time when most of the motorcycles are getting out of the market and fresh ones are coming in. These two factors lead to an optimum time for introducing a bike that many would like to buy and one way to attract masses in by selling cheap.
Honda has done exactly that by introducing the cheapest bike in its line-up to gather the potential buyers of Indian Market. Bike has been named Dream Yuga. It has a 100 cc engine that throws in 8.5 hp at 7500 rpm and a four speed gearbox. It is a very simple bike that features a carburetor after a long series of fuel injection systems. It also has kick-start and cable operated drum brakes. These features have saved a lot on money and weight and the bile weighs a mere 108 kg.
The 8-liter tank gives it a range of 544 km, which makes it cheap to run during these high priced fuel times and at 645 Euros (around Rs 44000) it’s cheaper than you can imagine.
