Volkswagen unveils three ideas from People’s Car Project in BeijingMay 3, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
VW introduced the Peoples car project 11 months ago in China and a total of 119,000 ideas were submitted. Out of so many ideas the carmaker has come up with three of them. The models are just ok, none of the really capturing your imagination.
One of the ideas used the magnetic leviation technology to keep the car above the ground. Called the Hover car the best part of the idea is that it has zero emissions. Second idea is about the car called Music car, which expresses the music played inside on the exterior body using organic LED’s.
Last idea car has a screen which keeps the owner updated about the fuel he has, the weather outside or if anybody is doing something with his car. This one is called the Smart Key.
“The ‘People’s Car Project’ in China marks the beginning of a new era in automobile design,” said Luca de Meo, marketing director at the VW Group. “We are no longer just building cars for, but also with customers and at the same time initiating a national dialog which gives us a deep insight into the design preferences, needs and requirements of Chinese customers.”
