Carroll Shelby and David Yurman shake hands for wristwatch lineApril 27, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
Ferrari, Bentley, Aston Martin, Bugatti and few others have two things in common. They all make awesome cars and to complement that they all have collaborated with various designers to have a line of timepieces. It is an absolute necessity to have your own watch line.
To this long list of watchful collaborations is one more, Caroll Shelby and David Yurman. The watch shown above is a result of this collaboration and has been created especially for the Shelby 1000 which was revealed at the New York Auto Show last month.
The David Yurman Limited Edition Shelby 1000 timepiece features a Swiss-made Valjoux 7753 automatic chronograph in a 43.5mm stainless steel and rubber case with tachymeter bezel and guilloche racing stripes on the galvanized steel dial. A bountiful of class and design in a single piece.
A rubber strap with snakeskin texture straps it to your hands. Only 300 of such watches will be made out of which 150 will be in bare stainless steel and 150 with a black PVD coating.
This collaboration has just started as David Yurman will be making a lot of watches for the company. So to have the first one will be a nice feeling and after a few decades will be a historic thing.
