BMW launches MINI in IndiaApril 7, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
MINI is launched in India. We told you so and we stand corrected. Coincidently India happens to be the 100th market for MINI, which is also sad since India deserved it much earlier. Anyways we won’t go there as its better late than never.
The Mini will come in five variants – Cooper, Cooper S, Cooper Convertible, Cooper S Countryman and Cooper S Countryman High and with a price tag above 25 lakhs, VW Beetle will be the competitor in chief.
Unveiled at the auto expo in January, the vehicle will be finally rolling out from its showroom in Mumbai.
“Our main focus this year will be to concentrate on successfully establishing the MINI brand in India,” Andreas Schaaf, President, BMW India said at a press conference.
100 units have been booked already, claimed the company.
Also the MINI won’t be assembled in India, it will be imported as a complete Built up vehicle. No one is interested in how it comes here, we are just glad it made here.
