Daimler sentences death penalty to unauthorized Mercedes Benz 300 SLMarch 24, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
This is bad news, sad news. One of the replicas of the Mercedes Benz 300 SL has been brought to pieces by Daimler and they did not just stop at this. They have issued a warning against anyone who tries to bring up a replica of the car. The same fate will be assigned to them too.
It really won’t matter if you have put your hard work and money, an illegal copy will be destroyed. The picture shown here was a full fledged copy of 300 SL, which was taken in by the German Customs Officials. Built by a German company and though the company told Daimler about the copy, it was useless.
In their Press release, Daimler said that the body of 300 SL was a work of applied art under copyright protection for decades and their action of dismantling a replica was a reminder that they will always be keen on taking action again such things to protect the copyrights.
The copy that was caught, was sent to the Mercedes Benz used parts centre, where the fake was put in a 30 ton industrial press and current its nothing but just scarp. Copiers be smart and lucky and never get caught else your baby on wheels will have a terrible ending.
