Heritage racing team: Jaguar’s revival in racing eventsMarch 15, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
There were times when Jaguar raced like its wild name and they were glorious, but last few decades have seen a quite dormant jaguar. But nor more, it has finally woken up to its natural instincts and has plans to claw its way back in to the track world.
The British Automaker has recently been seen racing at classic racing events, but the racing things will be getting some boost under their new Jaguar Heritage Racing Banner. Managed by the specialist firm JD Classics of Essex, C-type and D-type Jaguars will be let loose at revival events in distant places including Goodwood, Nurburgring and the Mille Miglia. The Heritage Racing team makes its first appearance at the Mille Miglia.
The recent endeavor will see jaguar in a better position in the racing world as compared to their stint with Jaguar RSR XKR GT2. It has been pretty dismal for Jaguar since winning Le Mans in 1990 with the XJR-12 and selling its team in 2004. Sanity can be restored by the Heritage Racing team or at leas t looks as of now. Also the rumors about LMP1 get hopes rising.
But till something concrete is reached to show off, pick up the history of Jaguar and read about its former glory and then ponder if the current development has in it to restore what seems a distant past now.
