i-FD is BMW’s concept study of Green Sports SedanMarch 14, 2012 by: Rituraj Mishra
With the production of i3 hatchback and i8 sports coupe at hand, BMW’s plate looks full at the moment. So busy that they forgot us to tell about their i-FD concept. It is in the pipeline for sure but the date of its revelation looks behind a veil.
So until BMW opens up about the concept or gives the concept four wheels we have a study to show you. Called the BMW i-FD and created by Feliciano Ruy-Diaz fromValencia,Spainthe study could lead you to story behind the concept.
According to Feliciano the design is inspired from the work of renowned Spanish architect and structural engineer Santiago Caltrava. Also the Greek armor and the lines of a White Shark have played its part in the design process. The mission was to reach to a design that would speak of dynamism and power.
Nothing else is revealed by him but we can easily guess that the powertrain will be close to what i8 has to offer. It will be some time before the concept makes headlines, as I told you earlier; BMW is kind of busy right now.
