Lee Iacocca’s Ferrari F40 to go under the hammer at RM Auctions
January 17, 2012 by: Rituraj MishraCars can be great, rare, fast and many other things. My type of car will be just special. So, I was intrigued when I came across this special 4-wheeled angel.
A memorabilia to mark Ferrari’s 40th anniversary, F40 had to be special. The last one produced under the watchful eyes of Enzo Ferrari, F40 has stood tall and proud. Withstood every test thrown at it and has been competitive enough to carve a niche out amongst the crowd of supercars.
It’s popularity can be gazed by the fact that original production of 400 was overhauled with public demand, so the limit reached to 1300. Out of the 213 that blessesAmerica, the one we chose is extra-special. Made especially for ex-CEO of Chryslr Lee Iacocca, it was quite some news. CEO of a major brand getting a car of another brand is news people. Also Lee owned a Lamborghini as that time. So F40 was a surprising and very supportive decision.
21 year of history in its body and just 300 miles of work done, it will almost be brand new. Let’s see what it accounts for at the RM Auctions. Just a reminder it’s inArizona, right about next week.
